The conference was hosted by Fordham University, Gabelli School of Business, New York, USA, and attracted more than 350 service researchers and business leaders from around the world. The symposium is held every other year and attracts around 250 leading researchers and executives from all over the world. The government today followed the recommendation of the university board and appointed Professor Johan Sterte as Karlstad University’s vice-chancellor. Johan Sterte succeeds Åsa Bergenheim to the post on 1 September 2017. Johan Sterte (57) has extensive experience as vice-chancellor. He was the vice-chancellor of Växjö University from 2009 to 2009, and since 2009 he has been vice-chancellor of Luleå Luleå University of Technology.

The NEAT project won the Best Demo Award at the IFIP Networking conference, in Stockholm (June 12-15, 2017). The Demo was presented by Zdravko Bozakov (Dell EMC) on behalf of all the authors. The demo, titled "A NEAT framework for application-awareness in SDN environments", is joint work from KaU and Dell EMC illustrating how NEAT can be integrated in an SDN scenario.

This spring you defended your doctoral dissertation in psychology, what will you do next? – At the moment I am working on getting articles from my doctoral thesis published in scientific journals, and I am also preparing to move to Denmark. How is the work with the articles progressing? – You can say it is moving along well.
