Erik Wästlund, Lecturer in Psychology and researcher at CTF, appears in the latest issue of the popular science magazine Scientific American. The article talks about how people easier understand and remember text on paper compared to text on a screen.
- As a part of my Ph D thesis I conducted a study where I compared reading comprehension between paper and screen. The results showed that text on paper was easier to understand.

- I will spend four months as Visiting Professor at The Center for Service Leadership. I will meet and work with Professors Mary Jo Bitner och Amy Ostrom.

- Thanks. It's great to be back. I'm here to prepare the new joint PhD position between CTF and Eawag. Thankfully, we have a very promising candidate and we now just want to manage the administrative challenges. During the fall of 2013, students on the course ISGC16 "Usability testing, prototyping and evaluation" were asked to evaluate "My Page" at Karlstad University's website through user tests. "My Page" was tested in two iterations with 30 students users.
"My Page" provides features for students such as course registration, sign up for exams, and exam results.

During the fall 2013 two new Ph D Students in Business Administration have joined CTF.
Emma Axelsson will pursue her doctoral studies on business models in retail- and manufacturing industries. She will be tied to the research profile Service Innovation for Sustainable Business where Martin Löfgren, Associate Professor will be Emma’s supervisor.

In December 2013 CTF has been appointed Excellence research group at Karlstad University.

The Ozlab system has been used for many years by Karlstad University researchers when exploring interface concepts and paradigms for computer applications. Thanks to the incorporation of the Wizard of Oz technique researchers could simulate functionality without spending time or resources on programming.
Though, as time went by, our tool needed updating. Therefore, the Ozlab system is now being redeveloped towards a web-based system.
