Who can apply for Erasmus+ traineeship?
You can apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship if you are planning to carry out a traineeship or field studies in Europe for at least two months. There is limited funding to support Erasmus+ traineeships outside Europe. Where there is limited funding scholarships will be awarded on a first come first served basis. Applications can be submitted by specific deadlines to the International Office but at least two months before you travel. Further information is available via the traineeship page.

Who should fill in the forms to register an international traineeship?
Students register your traineeship abroad via our online registration form.

Sign the registration form electronically, obtain your supervisor’s electronic signature and email the form along with supporting documents to the International Office exchange@kau.se no later than two months before departure. Once you have sent in your form, the International Office will contact you with further instructions and forms.
How can I prepare for my stay abroad?
Karlstad university offers two courses to help you:
- Go to Field Studies: Cultural Encounters and Field Specific Knowledge (7,5 ECTS) - relevant for those who are going on traineeship or teacher training abroad
- Go to Field Work: Preparations and Methods (15 ECTS) - relevant for those who are going to carrying out field studies for their dissertations abroad
