Field studies: cultural encounters and field-specific knowledge
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course centres on cultural encounters, cultural clashes and how cultural differences arise in the encounters of minority and majority cultures. Students reflect on their own position in the field and discuss strategies and approaches to handling situations. In preparation of the field study, the course includes literature studies of the geographical area and the specific institutions to visit. The course is particularly suited to students who plan to carry out practical placement or other internships abroad.
