Independent project, Western classical music
15.0 ECTS creditsStudents plan and carry out an artistic project based on a chosen aim and research questions and analyse, compile, and discuss their own creative process. They also critically reflect upon and discuss different issues, artistic perspectives, methods, and processes in the field of artistic research. The course includes instruction on how an independent project is planned and completed.
The course runs for two semesters. The first semester includes introduction to and perspectives on an artistic work, formulation of a problem, aim and research questions, planning the performance, and choosing and elaborating on the form and content of the project. The project proposal is discussed in a seminar before the project begins. The second semester includes processing, completing, and implementing the project, an artistic performance and oral presentation of the work, and written documentation in the form of an essay presented and discussed in a final seminar.
Instruction is in the form of group sessions and seminars as well as individual and group supervision.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
