Gabriel Lui is Environmental Analyst and General-Coordinator of Forest Economy at the Secretariat of Climate Change and Forests in the Ministry of the Environment, Brazil.

Within the Ministry, he has held coordination and direction positions in socioenvironmental management, rural sustainable development and control of deforestation. He holds B.S. in Environmental Management, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Applied Ecology from University of Sao Paulo. He is also research associate at the Center for the Analysis of Social-Ecological Landscapes da Indiana University, USA.
