Claudia Teresa Canedo Rosso
Forskning
My research spans on hydrological, agricultural, and climatological dynamics, leading me to focus on assessing climate-related disasters. I apply interdisciplinary methods in my research, such as risk assessments, conceptual and physical modeling, remote sensing, and big data analysis.
Currently, I am researching drought risk in the Nordic Countries, which involves assessing hazard, vulnerability, exposure, and impacts. As part of this project, I assessed agricultural drought in Sweden, evaluating its impact on agricultural production.
If you would like to learn more about my research, please feel free to reach out to me.
Samverkan
My research project is active within the Centre for Societal Risk Research (CSR) at Karlstad University (KAU.SE/EN/CSR), which focuses on interdisciplinary studies related to societal risks and their management. This appointment is also connected to the Centre of Natural Hazards and Disaster Science (CNDS), a national interdisciplinary research center collaboratively operated by three Swedish universities, including Karlstad University (CNDS.SE).
Biografi
Hej! I'm Claudia. I am a hydrologist interested in the relationship between water, climate, and agriculture. I studied agricultural science in Bolivia, which inspired my interest in water resources engineering. During my doctoral studies at Lund University, I assessed drought impacts over the Andes Mountains in South America. Following that, I joined the Research Unit at the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), where I focused on integrating satellite altimetry data, in-situ observations, and hydrological models for hydrological forecasting in West Africa and Siberia. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Karlstad University and CNDS, where I work on climate-related disasters in the Nordic Countries.
