Prof. John Sören Pettersson was one of the organisers behind the fifth M4D conference, that is, the conference on mobile communication technologies for development arrange biannual by KAU’s Centre for HumanIT.
Research in chemistry education is concerned with teaching and learning chemistry. Chemistry education is a part of SMEER (Science Mathematics Engineering Education Research, - www.kau.se/SMEER), where two of the chemistry education staff are representatives in the scientific board.
The seminars arranged by CRS are open for researchers, PhD students, students and others who are interested in the topics. They are arranged in Swedish or English dependent on the specific speakers or topics. We announce them here and in the calendar at www.kau.se/crs.

Sweden’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic stands out in many ways compared to other countries. One of the most obvious is the method of implementing interventions. Specifically, the Swedish strategy is based on recommending its citizens to act in a certain way and trusting them to follow these recommendations.
At the Higher Seminar in Political Science, research relevant to political science topics is presented and discussed. The seminar is primarily intended for staff and students in political science but is also open for other interested parties. Våldsamma fantasier tar sig an den kulturella ambivalens som omgärdar fiktivt våld. Boken rymmer fem fallstudier som resonerar kring fiktionsvåldets plats i samtidskulturen.
For just over two years, Karlstad University along with society at large has followed the Public Health Agency’s guidelines, recommendations, and information due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With the pandemic now slowing down, special measures are no longer needed and the information will therefore be removed.
In the summer of 2024, the wooden floor on floor 2 will be renovated. This means that the library and reading room will be closed from June 6 to August 11. Do you want to borrow or return a book, or do you have other questions for the library? Email biblioteket@kau.se or call 054-700 10 92. The telephone hours follow the library’s opening hours except for the period from June 6 to August 11 when the library is closed. During this time, the library has telephone hours on weekdays kl.
