Bio
Reza Sirjani earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology, Iran, in 2006. He continued his studies at Tehran Science and Research University (SRBIAU), where he received a Master of Science in the same field in 2008. In 2013, he completed his PhD in Electrical , Electronic and System Engineering at the National University of Malaysia (UKM).
Following his doctoral studies, Reza served as an Assistant Professor at Cyprus International University from 2013 to 2017. He then joined Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), where he was promoted to Associate Professor in September 2018. During his time at EMU, he also held the position of Vice Chair of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2020 to 2022. In August 2022, he joined Karlstad University in Sweden.
Reza has almost 20 years of research experience in energy systems optimization and renewable energy, along with over 12 years of teaching experience in various areas including power systems, electric machinery, and power electronics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conferences and has supervised 18 Master's and PhD students.
In addition to his academic career, he worked as an engineer in the transmission lines department at MOSHANIR, one of Iran’s largest power engineering consultancy firms, from 2005 to 2009.
From December 2023, he is appointed as the Director of Studies in Electrical Engineering at Karlstad University.
