EndNote for staff
EndNote is a reference management software available for staff at Karlstad University, it can be used with both PC and Mac.
- Download EndNote to your computer via Software Center (PC) or Self Service (Mac).
What type of material is the service intended for?
EndNote is primarily used to manage and cite published material, but unpublished sources can also be registered. The following may not be handled in the software:
- Privacy-sensitive personal data
- Sensitive personal data
- Confidential information
Uploading full texts in EndNote
EndNote has a feature that can search for and automatically download full texts that are available (e.g. open access or those to which we have access through the university library's agreements and subscriptions).
Users can also attach full texts manually. When uploading full texts manually, you must take copyright and licence agreements into account. Only material that you have legal access to can be uploaded; in other words, content that is freely available online or through agreements and licences. Download output styles
You will notice that many of the most popular citation styles are pre-loaded in EndNote. If you cannot find the style you require, you can download it from the EndNote website or load in additional styles created by the library.
