Classroom Music Teaching 1
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course comprises two modules. The content is designed to prepare students for placement (VFU) within the subject area.
Module 1
- Fundamentals of education with a focus on classroom music teaching
- Review and discussion of current syllabuses within the music subject area
- Presentations and elementary applications related to the knowledge area of performing and creating music in classroom teaching
- Orientation in the knowledge area of the contexts, functions, and tools of music
- Handling and basic application of elements such as pulse, rhythm, movement, and playing instruments
- Introduction to digital learning resources
- Teaching practice through observation (auscultation)
Module 2
This module includes exercises in which students, grouped according to skill level, practice notating and reproducing rhythms, melodies, and chords. In the area of instrumentation, students are introduced to the fundamental principles of writing for common instrument families, plus basic knowledge of instruments.

Music and Music Teaching 1, 22.5 ECTS credits, and School as System and Idea - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, and registered for Music and Music Teaching 2, 7.5 ECTS credits, or equivalent
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
