Instrument and Ensemble 6
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course comprises two modules.
Module 1
This module includes musical performance on a chosen second instrument or instrument group in a selected genre through individual instrumental lessons. It primarily focuses on instrumental or vocal skill development, musical interpretation, and musical communication.
Module 2
This module includes general music education, including:
- seminars involving presentations and discussions of texts from current general and music education trade journals, research, and debates
- work on developing teaching philosophy
The module also includes instrumental methodology including:
- in-depth methodological aspects based on the chosen structure for the respective main instrument
- supervised teaching practice on the main instrument within the context of compulsory or optional school activities
- reflections on the completed supervised teaching practice
The ensemble methodology section mainly includes:
- aural-based ensemble leadership with folk and world music as the genre focus
- specific methodology and supervised teaching practice in large ensemble settings, based on the instrument and genre combinations of the students

Completed Thesis 1 - Music education, 15 ECTS credits, and registered for Music and Music Teaching 7, 7.5 ECTS credits, Teachers' professional leadership 1 - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, plus Instrument and Ensemble 5, 15 ECTS credits, or equivalent
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
