Scholarships
Are you planning to take a semester abroad, it may be worth investigating whether you are eligible for any of the following scholarships.
Scholarships for exchange studies:
Within Europe - You will automatically receive an Erasmus+ scholarship of between 510-560 Euros per month (exceptions exist)
Outside Europe - There are sometimes Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility scholarships for specific partner universities outside Europe, if you are placed at a university where scholarships are available, the International Office will send you details of the scholarship and conditions.
South America - Autumn 2025/Spring 2026 - A new scholarship available for students going on exchange in the Autumn semester of 2025 or Spring semester of 2026 to the following universities:
- Insper University – Brazil
- Universidad Regiomontana – Mexico
- Universidad de Guadalajara – Mexico
This scholarship will be available for 1 to 2 students per university.
In case of competition, scholarships are awarded based on merit ratings.

Asia - Spring 2026 - A new scholarship available for students going on exchange in the Spring semester of 2026 to the following universities:
- National Taipei University - Taiwan
- Nagoya University of Foreign Studies - Japan
This scholarship will be available for 1 to 2 students per university.
In case of competition, scholarships are awarded based on merit ratings.

Scholarships for international traineeships:
Erasmus+ - You can receive an Erasmus+ scholarship if you carry out an international traineeship, teacher training (VFU) or field studies (data collection abroad) for a minimum of two months. More information is available on the following page:

The Erasmus+ programme provides additional funding for students in the following situations:
Green travel Top-Up (Spring Semester 2025) - Students can apply for additional funds of €50 and up to 2 travel days for sustainable modes of transportation such as trains or buses, provided that at least half of the journey is conducted in an environmentally friendly manner.
Green travel (from Fall Semester 2025) - Students can apply for additional travel support and up to 6 travel days for sustainable modes of transportation such as trains or buses, provided that at least more than half of the round-trip journey is conducted in an environmentally friendly manner.
Inclusion Support for Participants with Fewer Opportunities - It is possible for students who face barriers to participate in a mobility to apply for inclusion support. Fewer opportunities refer to factors that can prevent participation in an Erasmus activity, for example:
- Disability
- Educational difficulties
- Limitations in the education system
- Cultural and linguistic factors
- Social and economic factors
- Discrimination
- Geographical factors
Examples of additional costs can be adapted accommodation, cost of accompanying assistant, childcare, transport of equipment/medicines and preparatory visits for the participant.
Inclusion support and disability Top-Up - Students with a disability and / or long term impaired health can apply for an additional scholarship of €250/month and inclusion support for actual extra costs.
Top-Up for students with children - If you are a student with children (aged 18 or under), you can apply for an additional scholarship of €250/month, whether the child accompanies you on the exchange or not. You can also apply for inclusion support based on the actual additional costs of having your child accompany you.
Top-up for students with refugee status in Sweden - Students with former or current refugee status, confirmed by a decision from the Swedish Migration Agency, can apply for an additional scholarship of €250/month .
