Liegroups and Liealgebras

The course provides an in-depth treatment of the theory of Lie groups
and Lie algebras as well as related mathematical structures and methods.
These arise for instance in the description of symmetries in various
different contexts. The topics include fundamental concepts for algebras,
Lie algebras and Lie groups, the structure theory of semisimple and affine
Lie algebras, real forms of complex Lie algebras, the connection between
Lie groups and Lie algebras, as well as representation theory including
e.g. Young tableaux, Verma modules, character formulas and fusion rings.
