In November, three new distance courses with focus on business models, servitization and value creation through service will start. They are developed for professionals and are given by CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University.
The five credit courses are developed to suit professionals where work and studies can be combined. They will run part-time and are free of charge.
The course participants will take part of theoretical and practical knowledge. They will analyze and discuss key concepts, models and case studies as well as experiences and challenges that are linked to their own workplaces.
Applying service research
Bo Edvardsson, professor of Business Administration, leads the course “Applying service research for professionals” that focuses on value creation through services.
“We will look at how companies and organizations can create value for those the business is intended for. The course covers, among other things, different characteristics of services and what it means for organization, management, and the development of businesses, explains Bo Edvardsson who has extensive experience in the field through research in collaboration with businesses such as Ikea, Volvo and Telia.
The course also focuses on challenges in managing and ensuring quality in services, how to manage and learn from dissatisfied customers, and how value creation can be developed through innovation and service development.
Introduction to Servitization
The course "Introduction to Servitization" is led by Maria Åkesson, senior lecturer in Business Administration. It is aimed at professionals who want to gain increased knowledge about servitization and what this transformation means for different companies and organizations.
“In step with increased globalization and competition, servitization is becoming increasingly important. Knowledge that can be used to develop businesses and contribute to increased competitiveness and profitability.
