Ukrainian students - transfer studies to Karlstad University
Can I transfer my studies to Karlstad University?
If you are a Ukrainian citizen and have applied for asylum in Sweden, or a citizen of EU/EEA or Switzerland, you can apply in our second admissions round which is open 15 March to 19 April.
If you are a non Ukrainian citizen and have applied for asylum in Sweden, or a citizen of EU/EEA or Switzerland we do not recommend you to apply in the second admissions round due to the risk of not getting your residence permit in time. In order to apply for a residence permit you need to pay your tuition fee first. If you can’t enroll with the programme due to status of residence permit, you can apply for getting your tuition fee refunded.
I am a Ukrainian citizen and I have difficulties financing my studies, is there a scholarship I can apply for?
Karlstad university does not currently offer scholarships aimed at Ukrainian citizens, but it may be possible for students admitted to studies at Karlstad University to receive a scholarship from the Erasmus+ programme. Please email exchange@kau.se by 15 August if you wish to apply.
What are my opportunities to apply for a residence permit or asylum in Sweden as a Ukrainian citizen right now?
I have problems financing the payment of my upcoming tuition fees for my studies, is there any help you can give me?
If you are an enrolled student at Karlstad University and you are facing difficulties paying the tuition fee for the coming semester on time, you can apply for a postponed payment deadline. In such cases, send an email to admission@kau.se and describe the reason for your request. An individual assessment is always made.
Can I apply for a deferment of studies?
You must have an acceptable reason for deferring your studies.
How do I apply?
I have questions, who do I contact?
