... you are spending a lot of time in the municipal archives in Storfors and Arvika at the moment. What are you up to?
"I’m working on my thesis and reading documents from the old school boards. I’m looking at how school reforms between the years 1950 and 1968 were handled and implemented at the local level."
Why is this particular period interesting?
"During the period 1950 to 1968, one of the largest school reforms to date was implemented in Sweden.
Two doctoral students from Karlstad University participated in the first meeting of the WASP-HS graduate school, when 35 doctoral students from a number of Swedish universities gathered to discuss and dive deeper in artificial intelligence and the humanities and social sciences.

“During this year, we will work hard to complete all projects and create conditions that will enable all our doctoral students to graduate”, says Magnus Lestelius, professor of chemical engineering and new programme director of VIPP Graduate School.
VIPP Graduate School, which started in 2011, will reach the finishing line at the end of 2020. The occasion is celebrated with an event in connection with Papermakers Light on 12 November.

"Digitalization engages many of us. More and more services related to our everyday lives are becoming digitalized, and it is interesting to see how people relate to this and what value it adds to their lives.

"We live in challenging times where we constantly need to adapt and adjust – something that most of us have experienced during the current pandemic.
