My current research interest is to provide potential transport level solutions to reduce latency in the Internet. My research involves several possible optimizations such as using partially reliable transports, better loss recovery mechanisms and scalable flow start-up mechanisms using, i.e., explicit congestion signal from the network. I am also interested to work on multi-path transports and novel congestion control mechanisms based on network signal such as ECN (Explicit Congestion Notification) from the network. The aim is to provide low latency and high throughput service. My further research interest falls in the area of Internet traffic analysis to understand characteristics of Internet traffic such as the recent trend in traffic pattern. In the similar vein, I am also interested to actively or passively measure any networking system to investigate protocol-level inefficiencies.
