Michael Eden
postdoc in mathematics

Research
My scientific work is usually problem-driven an can be caterogized as applied mathematics.
Two recent examples:
- We developed a model for the mechanical properties of so-called fibre-reinforced hydrogels which are used for in-vitro growth of cartilage.
- Together with engineers from the IFW (Hannover, Germany), we try to model and investigate the cooling effect of lubricants in grinding processes.
Teaching
Some of the courses that I have taught:
- Mathematical Modeling (University Bremen (UB), Germany)
- Mathematics for Engineers 1+2 (UB)
- Introduction to Programming (UB)
- Multiscale Problems (IIT Kharagpur, India)
Collaboration
My main colloborator during my PostDoc project is Adrian Muntan. Some other collaborators:
- Hari Shankar Mahato (IIT Kharagpur, India),
- Alfred Schmidt (UB)
- Christos Nikolopolous (University of the Aegean, Greece)
- Marcel Wichmann (IFW Hannover, Germany)
