Maria Åkesson

Research
Maria Åkesson holds a PhD in Business administration, her main research interests include customer experiences and service innovations, with a particular focus on understanding how actors integrate resources and co-create value. Another area of interest involves examining the roles that customers and employees assume within a service system and how these actors contribute to service innovation.
She also conducts research in the area of servitization, focusing on how organizations can become more service-oriented.
Maria has published her research in Journal of Business Research, Journal of Service Marketing, Managing Service Quality, International Journal of Public Sector Management, Journal of Service Theory and Practice, and Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing.
Teaching
Maria is the program director for the International business programme. She also teaches several courses in the area, including Organizational theory, Service management, and Servitization.
