Mahboobeh Hajiesmaeili
Postdoctoral researcher at River Ecology and Management Research Group (RivEM)

Research
My research focuses on ecological modelling and river habitat assessment for freshwater fish using individual-based modelling (IBM) and bioenergetics approach, as well as physical habitat simulation models. Currently, a large part of my research focuses on developing IBMs for regulated rivers under hydropeaking flows to predict how river management and future climate change may affect salmonid populations. The goal is to improve sustainable river management by developing new ecological modelling tools for sustaining valuable fish populations while maintating hydropower production.
