Research
My research interests concern educational work, language education, minority language revitalisation, and applied linguistics. In my dissertation, I studied Swedish upper secondary school pupils' use of machine translation and other online resources during essay writing in Spanish L3.
Currently, my research focuses on the revitalisation of Ladino or Judaeo-Spanish, an endangered minority language spoken by members of the Sephardic diaspora. In a project entitled Online Ladino Teaching – Possibilities, Challenges, and Needs, I interviewed Ladino teachers about their language revitalisation activities. In a follow-up project, I am currently interviewing Ladino students about their views on language learning. Further information about this study can be found on the KAU Ladino website.
I am also part of a research project on the development of school libraries.
