Karin Josefsson

Karin teaches at the undergraduate, advanced and research levels. Undergraduate education takes place in the nursing program. and at an advanced level in the training of specialist nurses, mainly district nurses.

The teaching is in different areas, such as the registered nurse leadership close to the patient, municipal home care, qualitative and quantitative research methods, nursing, health, as well as supervising master´s thesis.

Karin conducts clinical elderly research, which focuses on older adults in and outside care and those who provide care. The older adult's relatives are included in the research, as well as nursing students and their learning and the management and organization that takes place in the care of the older adults.

Karin earned her PhD in clinical elderly research at the Karolinska Institute in 2006 with the thesis: "Municipal elderly care: Implications of registered nurses' work situation, education, and competence".
