Amira Aldhafiri
Research
I am a PhD student in Oral Health and a licensed dental hygienist, with clinical experience both nationally and internationally, including work in Kuwait. This combination has given me a broad understanding of how different healthcare systems and cultural contexts influence preventive care and patients’ opportunities to achieve good health.
I hold a Master’s degree in Health Economics, Health Systems and Medical Management from Karolinska Institutet. This education provided me with an in-depth understanding of how health systems are structured and operate, and how strategic decisions at organizational and policy levels can impact health outcomes.
In addition, I am a member of the Symptomatic Research Group at Karolinska Institutet. I have a particular interest in how protective factors can help identify risks early and strengthen preventive strategies for children and adolescents. By integrating biological indicators with system and policy knowledge, I aim to contribute to more effective and sustainable preventive approaches that promote both oral and general health (A salutogenic perspective).
