This year’s Academic Celebration reflects passion for research
2023-10-04The Academic Celebration is one of the biggest events of the year at Karlstad University and a long-standing tradition. On 20 October it is time again and this year we celebrate passion for research – we present and inauguarate our new Vice-Chancellor Jerker Moodysson during this year's celebration. With great pomp and ceremony we will promote our new doctors, award honorary doctorates and inaugurate our new professors. We will also pay attention to this year’s docents and adjunct professors.
Research requires an unconditional interest in your field of expertise, a willingness and drive that take you through months of hard work before finally reaching your goal of a doctoral thesis or research paper. A passionate story that requires complete focus. In the noise of today’s society, science has perhaps never been more important and researchers are needed now more than ever. Therefore, the theme of this year’s Academic Celebration is passion.
Formal celebration with a warm atmosphere
This year we present 5 new professors at Karlstad CCC in Lerinsalen at 09.00-11.30. The event at CCC will also include a discussion with the university’s two new honorary doctors, led by moderator Jan van Stam, Professor of Physical Chemistry.
During the ceremony in Aula Magna our new Vice-Chancellor will be presented and inauguarated.
Both staff and students are welcome to attend the academic celebration lectures and the ceremony in Aula Magna. The number of places is limited – first come, first served!
Register to attend the academic celebration lectures and discussion with this year’s honorary doctors at Karlstad CCC and/or the ceremony in Aula Magna at Karlstad University by 12 October at the latest.
