We are rapidly approaching the Christmas holidays. I hope you will get the chance to relax for a few days, doing something you enjoy and fill up with energy for a new exciting year.
2025 has provided us with important lessons about the power of working together towards a common goal. Most of us have, in different ways, been affected by the financial challenges that have marked this year. As we are approaching the end of the year, we can see that our efforts have led to positive results.
As always, I want to be cautious about listing what we have achieved, since there is a big risk I might overlook something.
If you were to make a list of this year’s highlights and place it next to your colleagues’ lists, you would see that the lists would differ quite a lot and that if you were to combine them, it would make for a very long list. Important to society, relevant, thought-provoking, exciting.
I invite you to browse our news archive to get an overview of the incredible breadth and wealth of knowledge that underpins our university. It is fascinating to think that almost everyone who works at our university is an expert in something the rest of us know little or nothing about.
As we enter 2026, we do so with the knowledge that we possess this collective strength. Some challenges will remain, but I feel confident in our ability to face them.
