Three new doctors at Information Systems
2020-02-21Ala Sarah Alaqra defended a dissertation in Computer Science on human factors within privacy-enhancing technologies at the end of January, and a few days later Ala began a new employment in Information Systems at the Karlstad Business School. There Ala will research and teach in human-computer interaction.
Meteorologist Katarina Elevant defended a PhD dissertation within Media Technology in 2013 at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and has since then worked in the area of applied information systems development. Now she steps back to the academy by joining Information Systems in Karlstad while commencing research in the area of big data and weather-related predictions for stakeholders within the transportation sector. The teaching will mainly be within courses on web development.
Already last summer Sana Rouis Skandrani was hired. She is since long living in Paris and has a temporary apartment in Karlstad but she and her family are soon to move to Karlstad. Sana defended a PhD dissertation at Luleå University of Technology in 2012, “Impacts of Facebook hedonic usage on students’ academic achievement: the role of culture and personality characteristics” but has since then engaged in research within the use of Business Intelligence systems and Big Data analytics in which areas she is now contributing to the courses offered by Karlstad University.
