Research scholarship to Christina Öberg
2022-02-01Christina Öberg, professor of Marketing, have received a research scholarship from the Knut & Ragnvi Jacobsson Family Foundation for the project "Dealing with the unforeseen - prediction and change in the light of the pandemic and AI".
The project deals with developing research on corporate networks and how business leaders perceive and are affected by networks in decision-making situations.
- I have focused my research on networks between companies for almost 20 years, and early on I realized that the focus on individuals, the business leaders, was lacking. During a research visit at the University of Bath 2004-2005, I came in contact with, and started my research on what we call network pictures - how business leaders understand the networks of other companies around them, and what parts of these networks they consider relevant in various decisions. My interest in continuing to develop my research now is a result of a writing project along with an interest in how business leaders understand change that does not necessarily arise in their existing network.
Christina Öberg is one of the research scholarship recipients 2021 and receives SEK 460,000 for the research project "Dealing with the unforeseen - prediction and change in the light of the pandemic and AI". The scholarship recipients have been selected for their ability to develop ideas that contribute to positive societal-, and business development.
