Per Skålén receives RJ Sabbatical
2022-02-01Per Skålén, professor of Business Administration, have received funding from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond to conduct full-time research in 2022. During this time he will further develop his research on marketing practices.
- I am very pleased to have received the funding for this project and to be able to do full-time research. I will, among other things, spend time at Hanken School of Economics in Finland and KEDGE Business School in France and work with my co-authors in the project, says Per Skålén, who is active in research and teaching at CTF and Karlstad Business School.
During his sabbatical, Per Skålén will work on further developing his theories within marketing as practice, MAP, which is a theoretical framework that can be used to study marketing activities in companies. The work will be done within the project "Marketing as a practice: A practical theoretical framework for marketing research" where he collaborates with international researchers. The goal is to publish four articles and to establish MAP as a new research field.
- The research on marketing practices aims to establish a new framework that can be used by other researchers to study how marketing is performed in practice. It can in turn lead to a distinction between marketing that works well, "best practices", and marketing that does not work well.
Riksbankens Jubielumsfond is an independent foundation with the goal to promote and support research in Humanities and Social Sciences. Through RJ Sabbatical, researchers can spend up to one year of full-time research. The purpose is to give more researchers time to complete advanced research and write larger works that have the potential to be considered scientifically significant.
