On December 3, Karlstad Business School at Karlstad University organised the annual Sustainability Day, available for students and the general public. CTF-researchers Per Kristensson and Margareta Friman talked about their research in connection with the Global Goals and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
"The greatest effort right now is done in Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Goal 12: Responsible Production and Consumption", said Per Kristensson, Professor of Psychology and Director at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, and spoke about CTF’s research in relation to the Sustainability Development Goals, for example service innovation focusing on sustainable development in Swedish industry, research on how to reduce food waste, and how we can create sustainable production and consumption.
Margareta Friman, Professor of Psychology at CTF and Pro-Vice Chancellor at Karlstad University, held a presentation on the theme “Transport Policy”, were she talked about generating decisions on how to form societies. One challenge she spoke about was the need to develop policies that promote sustainable travel.
"A sustainable future requires us to change our view of transport. An overall goal for all nations should be the sustainable journey that is accompanied by sustained or increased well-being for people", says Margareta Friman.
The titel of the Sustainability Day was "Orchestrating Transformation to Meet Global Challenges – in the light of Agenda 2030". The program also included the speakers: Victoria Svanberg, Nya Wermlands Tidningen, and Malin Pellborn, SBAB, and Moderator Samuel Petros Sebhatu, Lecturer in Business Administration and researcher at CTF.
