Meet Siri Jagstedt, new researcher focused on digital services and servitization
2022-10-20Siri Jagstedt is a senior lecturer in Business Administration at Karlstad Business School, where she teaches industrial management and engineering. She now joins CTF to conduct research related to digitalisation and servitization.
Hello Siri! Welcome to CTF! Can you tell us about your background?
– I received my PhD from Chalmers with a thesis on the economy and organisation of technology. After receiving my PhD, I worked at the research institute RISE, where my duties included working with innovation competitions and innovation in networks, for example in relation to the implementation of agile working. Since August this year, I am employed at Karlstad Business School, where I teach and conduct research, and I will now take part in ongoing research projects at CTF as well.
Can you tell us about your previous research?
– My research field is in the borderlands between technology, organisation and management, and I look forward to continue my work in this field. My thesis is about servitization, more specifically how you can apply platform strategies to efficiently develop product and service combinations in manufacturing companies. It is a sort of mix between servitization and platform and modulation strategies.
What are you working on right now and what will your research at CTF focus on?
– To a certain extent, I am continuing on the road I began with my doctoral thesis, and I have a special interest in the architecture of digital services. Especially in cases where you combine hardware, software and services. I look forward to continue my research in the field of servitization, but I would also like to further examine how you can work with platform strategies and modulation in other contexts.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
– I spend my free time with my two daughters of 3.5 years and 10 months respectively. There is a lot of time at playgrounds and playing paw patrol, princess and fireman. In addition to play, pranks and crafts, we walk a lot with our ball-loving dog and like to watch an NFL game on Sunday night to follow how we are doing in fantasy football.
