Meet Javaneh Mehran, new postdoctoral researcher
2021-06-18Javaneh Mehran is a lecturer and researcher with a background in the service research industry. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on consumer behavior, sustainable service marketing and tourism expenditure modelling.
Hello Javaneh, tell us what brought you to CTF and Karlstad University?
“My interest for the postdoctoral position at CTF with a specialization in innovation measurement stems from my background in modelling consumer behavior in the service industry, marketing psychology and application of research methods. I think that CTF is very compatible for my research path. Sweden has long-term focus on education and research, and CTF has a major impact on the capacity for innovation adoption in service industry."
What are your expectations of your new position and what will you be working on?
“I am excited to continue my research path in Sweden with new colleagues and to participate in experimental research in collaboration with businesses. I will join the research project Discern where I will focus on digital transformation and analyzing data relating to how customers perceive the innovative capabilities in retail and in traditional industrial manufacturing. I will also put an effort into the development of new methods geared towards better tackling the challenges surrounding digitalization, servitization and supply chain management. Besides research, I will also be lecturing within Karlstad Business School."
Can you tell us about your background?
“Prior to CTF, I had a postdoctoral position at University of Aveiro in Portugal. I worked in a multi-cultural atmosphere and delivered several keynotes, training workshops and seminars in Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Iran, and Kazakhstan, and co-supervised post-graduate students. I am an industrial engineer and have conducted experimental research as well as field experience in data collecting and compiling at a technology company.
Finally, who is Javaneh Mehran?
“I am an adventurous nature traveler who enjoys outdoor leisure activities, dancing, and yoga. Getting to know new people, socialization and exploring the world and cultures is in my blood.”
