Times Higher Education is one of the most esteemed university rankings in the world. Karlstad University has been ranked 251-300 in the category Business & Economics.
This year’s ranking includes almost 1 400 universities in 92 countries and is the largest and most varied university ranking ever made. In order to be included, the higher education institutions must meet certain criteria. Karlstad University places 251-300 in the category Business & Economics, that includes the top 632 universities in business and economics. This category highlights leading universities in accounting and finance, business and management, and economics and econometrics subjects.
– It is very satisfying that Karlstad University ranks so high on the list in the category Business & Economics, especially for our Business School and that this is our first ranking, says Johan Sterte, Vice-Chancellor of Karlstad University.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings examine several aspects when they rank universities. The universities on the list are ranked in terms of education, research, citations, collaboration with commerce and industry, and internationalisation.
– Being included in the ranking is a stamp of quality in itself. Out of around 25 000 universities in the world only 1 400 are ranked, and Karlstad University is one of them. From the perspective of internationalisation, it is important for Karlstad University to be part of the ranking. Out of the different criteria that have been evaluated, our most prominent area of distinction is citations, says Thomas Blom, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Karlstad University.
