Ingesund, celebrating 100 years, sets its sights on 2024
2023-11-01The other weekend, the Ingesund School of Music celebrated its 100th anniversary for two days. They hosted a grand concert featuring several guest artists, as well as Ingesund's large symphony orchestra and soloists. During Saturday's concert, Westra Wermlands Savings Bank made a donation to the Ingesund School of Music, along with the announcement of a concert event that will make waves in 2024.
"The jubilee has been a very long project with many components, and the overall presentation with historical retrospectives and the breadth we showcased turned out very well," says Göran Lindskog, the head of the Ingesund School of Music.
Donation for the 2024 Concert
Over the years, Westra Wermlands Savings Bank has had many collaborations with the Ingesund School of Music. To honor Arvika and Värmland's newest centenarian, the bank has provided a donation to support Ingesund's concert activities, primarily in collaboration with Tomas Ledin and his concept "Symphonia" next year.
"This is incredibly significant for us!" says Johan Birgersson, Director of Studies and Concert Manager at the Ingesund School of Music. This opens up new opportunities to further strengthen our brand as a crucial player in higher music education and Swedish music life. It also generates increased interest among prospective students in starting their studies at Ingesund and relocating to Arvika. Moreover, it offers our students new inspiring challenges."
Symphonia consists of Tomas Ledin's most beloved songs in new orchestral arrangements. The word "Symphonia" means "harmony," and that is precisely what a unique concert tour, which emerged in connection with Tomas Ledin's 70th birthday, offers: a curious encounter across musical boundaries, between different music styles, different symphonic orchestras, and different regions. In 2024, Symphonia will come to the Ingesund School of Music and Arvika.
