A crisis management exercise will take place at Karlstad University on 5 November. A police task force will take part and train in Building 9A. This building will be closed off for the duration of the exercise. Building 9A is located next to the woods perpendicular to Building 12.
The crisis management team and the managers of faculties and teacher education will participate in the exercise. Other functions and groups of staff may be involved if necessary. The crisis management exercise will be performed in collaboration with the emergency services and the police.
- The purpose is to rehearse crisis management and other functions involved in handling a serious incident. Due to a general increase in threat-related activity in society, it is important to practise in collaboration with the police and the emergency services. Our objective is to carry out some kind of drill once every year, says Jan Gambring, Security Director at Karlstad University.
The exercise will begin at 8:45 and end at 16:30. During this time, rescue vehicles and uniformed staff may be present on campus.
