Library support to teachers

Media and information literacy is a term that describes the practices that allow people to manage, evaluate, and analyze the constant information flow coming from different types of media. Media and information literacy centers on understanding the role media plays in society, and being able to find, analyze and critically evaluate information.

At the university library we work daily to further students’ and staff members’ academic information literacy.

Copyright is the legal right that the creator(s) of a work have, i.e., the right to determine how the work may be used. Copyright applies automatically and no registration is required. Virtually all material used in teaching or research is protected by copyright. The copyright period generally lasts for the creator’s lifetime plus 70 years.
Copyright consists of two components: economic rights and moral rights.

The library acquires the literature required for all the courses available at the university. According to the library's acquisition policy electronic books are preferred to printed editions.

The library has the books required for all the courses available at the university. The number of copies purchased depends on the demand and the number of students in the course.
