Rasch Measurement Theory is named after the Danish mathematician Georg Rasch and is increasingly used for construction and evaluation of measurement scales in the health and social sciences. Currently, over 6000 peer reviewed papers using the Rasch model can be found by the Scopus search engine.
"Keeping up with the methodological challenges and innovations in the application of the Rasch Model is an important aspect in providing the best quality teaching to our students, and to help disseminate the approach in general through our publications," says Professor Alan Tennant from Switzerland, the initiator of the ERTG.
The ERTG was formed in 2012 based on network meetings starting in Leeds ten years earlier (2002). Today, ERTG includes a mix of over 20 lecturers, researchers and clinicians who are teaching Rasch analysis. Previous meetings have been held in Leeds, UK (2012, 2013), Skagen, Denmark (2014), Ferrara, Italy (2015) and Innsbruck, Austria (2016).
