Incident or accident reporting
In case of emergency, always call 112.
Incidents or accidents, which are not urgent, are reported in the IA system. Students report to the IA system via the shortcuts in My Kau:
An incident is an event that could have led to illness or an accident with personal injury, but where no injury occurred. An accident is when someone has been injured. Here are some examples:
- Incident: unwanted event that could have led to ill health or an accident but ended well. Something was about to happen. (Oops!)
- Accident: unwanted event that leads to injury or illness. (Ouch!)
- Travelling accident: someone has been injured on the way to or from work. (Ouch!)
It is possible to report events retrospectively, but a serious incident or accident must be reported within 24 hours.
How do I use IA?
When you create a new event in the IA system, an email is generated to the roles that need information about the event, such as safety manager and safety officer. Contact superuser if something has gone wrong in your notification, contact one of the superusers:
- HR-strategic, Emelie Hessel, emelie.hessel@kau.se
- Head of Security, Jan Gambring, jan.gambring@kau.se
What is the IA system?
The IA system is a web-based incident reporting system that provides support for systematic work environment and improvement work. Systematic work environment management includes always reporting, documenting, correcting and following up on risks, incidents and accidents. By using IA, we can get a more quality-assured management of our reports and measures.
IA is developed by AFA försäkring and is continuously developed in collaboration with the users of the IA system.

In case of unexpected events
The university's service phone 054-7002323 is available around the clock and you can get help from a caretaker or security guard. For example, it may be that you have locked yourself out, end up in a situation where you feel unsafe or discover something that needs urgent action.
