In this issue, researchers discuss how schools can help pupils acquire knowledge while also developing the ability to think critically and independently, how knowledge can be experienced and understood through the body, and how pupils are given opportunities to develop their mathematical thinking.

We also learn more about how geography education can help pupils understand complex issues, about lifelong learning and how new knowledge emerges through collaboration between academia and working life, about how the field of informatics is responding to the AI storm, and about a new initiative designed to promote the exchange of knowledge between researchers and policymakers.

In addition, Christina Olin-Scheller, Professor in Literature in Education and Professor in Applied Pedagogics, has written a column on knowledge and learning from the perspective of subject-specific pedagogy.
