Department of Geography, Media and Communication
The Department provides a unique environment that intersects human geography, media and communication studies, tourism studies, and geography. We teach and develop knowledge at the intersections of spatiality and communication, nature and culture, technology and society, and the local and the global. These areas are closely connected to the challenges that are characterized by globalization and rapidly changing communication technologies.
The department offers degree programmes in geographical subjects as well as media and communication studies. Researchers at the Department are also affiliated with Geomedia, NODE, and the Centre for Research on Regional Community Development.
