Karlstad university doesn’t offer accommodation but collaborate with Karlstads Bostadsaktiebolag (KBAB), the municipal housing company, to support international students in finding accommodation during their studies.

Accommodation

  • KBAB offers furnished student apartments. 
  • Prices and apartment sizes vary, typical price range is 4500 SEK-6000 SEK per month.
  • KBAB aims, as far as possible, to assist international students who contact them. 

Application

  • When to apply? You can apply after you have paid your tuition. 
  • Apply by emailing: KBAB.uthyrning@karlstad.se

  • We recommend applying for housing as early as possible, apply by 1 of July the latest.

Housing standards and contracts

  • All student apartments are furnished.
  • Your rental agreement will follow the same rules and conditions that apply to KBAB’s other student tenants.
  • Contracts, dates, keys and information is directly between students and KBAB and not the university.
