The Vocational Teacher Education is designed for those who want to qualify for teaching vocational subjects in upper secondary schools. It prepares students for a stimulating profession that requires occupational as well as pedagogical knowledge and skills.

The vocational teacher education programme comprises 90 ECTS cr, including school practical placement, 30 ECTS cr.

Relevant work experience as a teacher can be credited as equivalent to practical placement components.

Future prospects

Employment Market

For several years, there has been a shortage of qualified vocational teachers in upper secondary education. Prognosis says that the demand for this teaching category will continue many years ahead.

Degree

On completion of the programme, students are awarded a qualification for vocational teaching. The certificate specifies the courses studied.

  • Total fee: 180,000 SEK
  • Per semester / First payment: 60,000 SEK
