Risk Management - Bachelor's Thesis
15.0 ECTS creditsIn the degree thesis, students interweave and deepen the knowledge acquired in their undergraduate programme. In the thesis students thematically treat systematic societal security and can include analysis of hazard vulnerability as well as preparation and prevention efforts.The thesis project can be carried out in conjunction with a public agency, organisation or a company.
Students plan, conduct and present a project, resulting in an academic thesis, which consists of formulation of topic, overarching research problem, purpose and questions, analytical specifications and development of the aim through theory, delimitations, material and method, collection, processing and compilation of primary material, analysis of the material in relation to the aim, questions and relation to theory.
Instruction is in the form of supervision and seminars. Students also present their thesis orally and serve as a peer reviewer of another thesis.

Completed courses: Introduction to Environment and Safety, 15 ECTS cr, Natural Science Basis of Risk and Environmental Issues, 15 ECTS cr, Risk and Environmental Issues from a Health Perspective, 15 ECTS cr, Societal Strategies for Environment and Safety, 15 ECTS cr, and Local and Regional Climate Adaption, 15 ECTS cr. Attended course: Methods and Theory of Risk Management, 15 ECTS cr., or equivalent.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
