Theory and Method in Risk Management
15.0 ECTS creditsStudents acquire in-depth knowledge of central concepts and theories in risk management. An historical perspective of the theoretical and methodological foundations is outlined with the aim to enhance students' understanding of and ability to analyse risk management in a societal context. Emphasis is put on research problematisation, methods and analysis, and students practise combining theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches. Students learn how to produce a research design.
Students develop skills in independent research procedures and prepare for a degree project. Instruction is in the form of lectures, seminars and various forms applications.

Attended courses Introduction to environment and safety, 15 ECTS cr, The natural science basis of risk and environmental issues, 15 ECTS cr, Risk and environmental issues from a health perspective, 15 ECTS cr, Environment and safety strategies, 15 ECTS cr, and Local and regional adaptation to climate change, 15 ECTS cr, with 60 ECTS credits completed, or equivalent.
