This module provides students with an overview of the historical development of psychology into a modern discipline, with an emphasis on central concepts, theories and perspectives. In addition, the theoretical perspectives and theories of subject-specific teaching are introduced.
Module 2 Biological and cognitive psychology, 7.5 ECTS cr
Biological and cognitive psychology is introduced on the basis of central concepts, theories and perspectives. Theories on lesson planning related to subject-specific theories and concepts are included. The module also includes components in which the theory of science, research methods and ethics related to the area are introduced and applied.
Module 3 Developmental psychology 7.5 ECTS cr
Developmental psychology is introduced on the basis of central concepts, theories and perspectives. The development phases of childhood, adolescence and adulthood are presented. Theories on grading and assessment are treated. The module includes components in which the theory of science, research methods and ethics related to the area are introduced and applied.
Module 4 Social and group psychology, 7.5 ECTS cr
Social and group psychology is introduced on the basis of central concepts, theories and perspectives. The module also includes components in which the theory of science, research methods and ethics related to the area are introduced and applied. Instruction is in the form of lectures, group work, group reports and mandatory seminars.
Module 5 Research methodology, 7.5 ECTS cr
The module treats the most basic and central concepts and problems in qualitative and quantitative research methodology as well as different ways of measuring activities in a school context.
Module 6 Communication and interview, 7.5 ECTS cr
The module deals with communication, interview methodology, and theories on feedback. Instruction is in the form of lectures, mandatory seminars and several practical exercises. Students practice conducting interviews, are interviewed and analyse the interviews in terms of communicative aspects.
Module 7 Organisation psychology 7.5 ECTS cr
The module deals with central concepts relating to work and organsation psychology such as leadership, motivation, communication, stress and health, emotions, culture and work groups and teams. School and educational activities are also treated on the basis of theoretical perspectives.
Module 8 Psychology in school 7.5 ECTS cr Practical placement
Subjects-specific teaching issues linked to practical placement are developed through testing, problematisation and discussion. Students transform their acquired knowledge into teaching psychology in school under supervision and in line with their needs and pre-knowledge.
