Economics - two-year master thesis
30.0 ECTS creditsThe course consists of five components.
Part 1: Lectures on academic writing and the philosophy of science. In consultation with the supervisor, the student selects a topic for the thesis.
Part 2: Writing of a literature review related to the thesis topic/research question, followed by a seminar discussion in a mid-way review (mandatory attendance).
Part 3: Writing of the thesis.
Part 4: Seminar where the thesis is discussed, and where the student also act as peer-reviewer on the work of another student (mandatory attendance).
Part 5: Final presentation/submission of the thesis, together with a document explaining how comments from the final seminar have been addressed in the final version.
Supervision is offered during the semester in which the course is running. If a student re-registers for a later semester, supervision is subject to available resources.

Admission requirements:
A bachelor-level degree of at least 180 credits with Economics as the main field of study, and at least 45 credits in Economics at the A1N level or higher.Alternatively, at least 90 credits within the Master Programme in Applied Economics and Advanced Analytical Methods (SANEC).In addition, upper secondary level English 6 or English level 2. An equivalence assessment can be made.
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
