Classroom Music Teaching 5
15.0 ECTS creditsThe course comprises three modules. The course content prepares students for their teaching placement.
Module 1: Additional instrument (3 cr)
The module includes lessons where students learn to play pop and rock songs on the electric guitar, along with using related technical equipment. It also features skills training in group performance using rhythm section instruments and singing, approached from an educational perspective, as well as the use of technical equipment in this context. The module also covers song transcription and notation in the form of chord charts, and the production of digital backing tracks for educational purposes.
Module 2: Music education (9 cr)
The module covers general music education and includes
The module includes music production using digital tools, and music history focusing on the role and function of art and popular music in society during the 20th and 21st centuries.

- seminars involving presentations and discussions of texts from current general and music education literature, research, and debate, and
- introduction to and preparation of a personal teaching philosophy.
- seminars on ensemble leadership from various perspectives,
- goals, content, and planning, and
- assessment of ensemble performance.
- integrating music with other subjects in lower primary school based on different themes.
- thematic content for lower primary school, for instance related to the festive season, and
- planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching content and methods.
The module includes music production using digital tools, and music history focusing on the role and function of art and popular music in society during the 20th and 21st centuries.

Admission requirements:
At least a Pass grade in Music and music teaching 6 (7.5 credits), Teachers' pedagogical approach 2 - music teachers (7.5 credits), Teacher training practice 2 - music education (7.5 credits), and Classroom music teaching 4, (15 credits).An equivalence assessment can be made.
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
