Leadership in Music Education 2
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course is based on a practice oriented perspective. Students are expected to acquire and apply theoretical knowledge in practice. The following areas are treated:
- Theories on the function of groups in learning situations, strategies of conflict management, the prevention of discrimination and harassment in pupil and adult groups, and also bullying and/or victimisation in digital contexts and the teacher's responsibility.
- Teacher leadership in relation to the teacher as a norm setter and to issues of power and democracy regarding pupil and parent participation and community cooperation, as well as to professional ethics and the limitations of the teaching profession.
- Leadership in the perspective of diversity on the basis of the criteria of discrimination under the law with an emphasis on sexual orientation and ethnicity.
Instruction is in varied forms that activate students such as case studies, construction of plans, seminars, structured group discussions and practical exercises.
