30.0 ECTS creditsStudents choose, process, and complete an artistic musical production relevant for the main area of study musical performance. Aims and related research questions are formulated and relevant methods and artistic perspectives are used to process them for the selected production. The artistic production and the written report should be integrated into a coherent whole. The course includes seminars where students present and discuss work-in-progress, artistic methods, processes, and performance issues. The project is presented partly in musical performance and partly in writing, and defended by the student in a final seminar. The examination also includes for each student to perform as a peer reviewer of another student's work.
Gender equality and sustainable development are taken into account, especially through a fair distribution of coursework and equal treatment independent of gender, ethnicity, and so on, as well as a well-structured course content which is relevant and sustainable for future professional activities.
Supervision is provided for the duration of the course. Reregistered students are only offered supervision if circumstances permit.
Instruction is in the form of individual and/or group supervision and seminars.

A degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in music (180 credits), a passing grade for an entrance test, plus upper secondary level English 6 or B, or equivalent, and completed course KOAV04 Artistic research preparation, Western classical music, 7.5 ECTS credits
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
