System Analysis and Design
7.5 ECTS credits
System analysis and system design cover different concepts, methodologies, models, techniques and tools for developing information systems. System analysis and design are firmly rooted in an organisational context. In addition to modeling skills, a system designer therefore needs a broad understanding of organisational and technical aspects of information systems.
The course has a focus on studies of system development principles, models and methods rather than on specific tools. The practical part of the course centres on the most commonly used and known approaches in system analysis and design as well as on structured system analysis and object-oriented design.
Instruction is in the form of lectures, supervision of assignments and seminars. Assignments are presented in reports which are presented and discussed at seminars. Every students is also required to act as the discussant of a fellow-student's report.
